# Why do I need to complete a DocuSign form before receiving my prize?

Federal law requires that all winners of prizes valued at $600 or more verify their identity and eligibility before payment.

The DocuSign Affidavit of Eligibility and Release confirms you’re the rightful winner and allows Scratchee to release your prize in accordance with IRS regulations.
